Theatre of Fabric(ation) is a study of the relationship that emerges between the self and creativity. The subjects featured in this series are not professional models but rather two veterinary professionals working nine to five jobs. They are rarely able to express themselves outside of the capitalistic workspace. This conceptual project provided them with a stage on which they could become actors in the theatre of fabrications: an alternative reality, a dreamscape. The series aims to capture the nudges that creativity gives us until we finally decide to collaborate with it. Out of this collaboration sprouts a process of colourful discovery and bold self-expression. This encounter with creativity leaves us in a state of calm – knowing that our collaboration was fabricated and unlived, but as we return to reality it travels with us as an ideal of what could be different.
