Ten years ago, 17-year-old me went to Hudson's restaurant for dinner with friends. I ended up sitting next to Miané or sunshine in human form! Even though we were part of the same friend group, we didn’t know each other well. But after that night, I knew I had found a soul-friend! This year marks 10 years of friendship with Mia, so for her birthday, I wanted to create something truly special. I went back to Hudsons restaurant with an unusual request: ‘Could I take one of your menus home?’ When I explained why, the staff was incredibly kind and happily gave me one! From there, I created a conceptual gift to celebrate Mia’s life and the privilege of witnessing her make so many big (and small) life decisions over the past decade. Mia & I celebrated her 27 years around the sun at the same Hudsons! The staff was, once again, so kind and wished Mia the best of birthdays!
