Ghia & Stiaan met in 2018 and fell in love. They decided to get married in 2025 meaning that Ghia of course needed a bridal shower! For the occasion, I invited the women attending to bring a special wish for Ghia—something heartfelt that they could distill into a single, meaningful word. Ahead of the event, I embroidered each of these words onto a serviette, creating something tangible and personal for Ghia.
During the evening, each woman shared her wish aloud, presenting Ghia with her embroidered serviette. One by one, the words unfolded, forming a beautiful tapestry of love, blessings, and wisdom. By the end of the night, Ghia held a set of 13 personalised serviettes in her hands—and countless heartfelt wishes in her heart. Sitting together as women - sharing stories and blessings, felt deeply sacred. We ended the evening with me reading a poem I had written for Ghia & Stiaan. This evening was a reminder of how the right, thoughtful gift can transcend materiality. It becomes a vessel for love and a reminder of wisdoms shared and connections felt!
