Sophie is a florist living in Namibia. Anna is a designer living in South Africa. They have been friends since 2000! Sophie recently celebrated two things - her birthday and the birth of her second flower shop! Anna asked me to create a textile work for Sophie that she could frame and hang in one of her flower shops! And, boy did I have fun creating this piece! I love it when clients give me the freedom to create and conceptualise as a project develops. This process resulted in a simple pop of colour that's drizzled with so much symbolism - scroll down to read what every stroke and stitch means!
